Campion Associates is organising the Campion Inter-school Football Tournament from May 24-June 2 at Jawalakhel Youth Club (JYC) ground to mark its 10th anniversary. According to the fixtures, Campion School will take on Basanta Ritu School in the inaugural match. “The main objective of the tournament is to develop football from the school level and make it possible for aspiring footballers to develop a career in the sport,” said Roshan Lama, vice-president of Campion School, and also the ECA manager of the school, at a press meet today.

In all, 16 teams are taking part in the tournament, supported by JYC and ANFA. Apart from the winner’s trophy, there is also an award for the Most Valuable Player. The nine-day event will be played among the high-school students. The final will be held at ANFA Complex. The organisers informed that they were planning to organised basketball tournament, marathon, musical competition and other cultural programmes. Academic Director Deepak Thapa, Academic Advisor Prof Dr Hari Prasad Parajuli, and Principal Bhushan Gurung of the school were present on the occasion.
