Kathmandu Gurkhas secured a nail-biting one-wicket win over Biratnagar Kings in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) match at TU Cricket Ground, in Kirtipur on Sunday morning.
Chasing a target of 118 runs, Kathmandu reached the total in 18.1 overs with top contributions from Pratik Shrestha (39), Shankar Rana (16 not out), and Rashid Khan (14).
Biratnagar's captain Sandeep Lamichhane shone with the ball, taking three wickets, while Chris Sole, Basir Ahmad, and Anil Kharel grabbed two wickets each.
Earlier, Biratnagar was bowled out for 117 runs in 19.5 overs, with Rajesh Pulami (25) and Deepak Bohara (20) leading the scoring. For Kathmandu, Gerhard Erasmus claimed three wickets, while Dipesh Kandel took two.
With this victory, Kathmandu Gurkhas remain in contention for the tournament.
