LALITPUR: The first formal Central Committee meeting of the Nepali Congress held after the demise of its late president Girija Prasad Koirala on March 20, decided to hold its General Convention (GC) at the end of August, at the party headquarters in Sanepa on Thursday.

The NC’s upcoming 12th GC could not be held on the scheduled dates of March 10-14. The office bearers remain divided over the new dates for the same. However, the new dates would be finalised in tomorrow‘s meet which is scheduled for 3 pm.

Meanwhile, a group of cadres of the Ramechhap district staged a sit-in protest demanding action against chairman Ram Chandra Khadka for his irregularities in the active membership form distribution in the central office.
