KATHMANDU: Author Subin Bhattarai is a lecturer at the Himalayan Whitehouse College. Bhattarai has already published two fictional books Kathaki Paatra and Summer Love. And his third book Saaya, a sequel to Summer Love, is being launched in Shrawan. Here he gets nostalgic about his college days MY ALMA MATER(S) I completed BSc from Tri-Chandra Multiple Campus and MSc from Central Department of Environmental Science, Tribhuvan University. COURSE STUDIED I studied Environmental Science. COLLEGE LIFE It was the most memorable and grand part of my life that is missed very much. BEST OF COLLEGE LIFE Company of friends, canteen talks, hangouts, class bunks, hiking and trekking along with field works are the best part of my college life. LASTING MEMORIES During my MSc Ist year, 46 of us had seven days’ field trip or excursion to Pokhara. We used to wake up at 5:00 am and work till midnight everyday. Even though it was hectic, I enjoyed the excursion a lot. I even included those memories in my novel Summer Love. LESSON LEARNT I enjoyed good company in my college life. We used to study together which reduced the time and effort as compared to time required if we indulged in sole studies. Teamwork perhaps, is the mostimportant lesson I learnt at college. WORDS TO HEED College life is the last stage of life in which one can enjoy and learn to the fullest. Do everything that you wish to — be wild,try some adventures. But don’t try things that you may regret or be ashamed of in future. HOW TO ACE IN COLLEGE Be patient and hardworking, also have a fearless mind to ace in college. Besides that, enjoy whatever you are studying or doing for successful college life.
