Nidhi tells DDRC to distribute relief money

SINDHULIMADI: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transportation Bimalendra Nidhi today directed the District Disaster Rescue Committee, Sindhuli, to grant Rs 15,000 each to the quake victims of the district without any hassle at the earliest. Minister Nidhi, who reached district headquarters Sindhulimadi to take the stock of the damage caused by the massive earthquake and relief distribution today, expressed dissatisfaction with the delay in relief distribution of Rs 15,000 for construction of temporary shelters for quake victims of the district. “The quake victims should be provided relief amount at the earliest and in a hassle-free manner,” Nidhi said. He directed the disaster rescue committee to grant the money to disaster victims on the basis of recommendations. Local Development Officer Rajendra Dev Pandey had briefed the minister about relief distribution to the victims in quake-affected areas. According to Pandey, of the affected 25 VDCs of the district, relief money was distributed only in 18 VDCs so far. Chiefs of District Health Office, Drinking Water, Livestock and District Education Office briefed the minister about sector-wise damage caused by the earthquake in the district.
