DOLAKHA: At least nine army personnel were injured after being buried in landslips at Lamabagar of Dolakha on Monday. The army men were deployed to guard Upper Tamakoshi Hydro Project at Lamabagar. Biswash Bikram Shah, of Barda Bahadur Battalion Dolakha, said the on-duty security personnel were injured after sudden landslides fell from above the security post. They were rescued by other army personnel after the incident. An army health team has been treating the injured at Lamabagar. As many as 50 security personnel had been deployed to guard the project. The store room, where some explosives were kept for construction of the project, was also buried by the landslip. Some of the explosives had gone off after the incident, however, no casualty was reported, informed Shah. The relief materials stored in the army security post were also buried in the landslide. The relief items were supposed to be distributed in Singati area of Dolakha. According to the army, the landslides were triggered by heavy rainfall yesterday as the land in the area had cracked and become vulnerable after the April 25 earthquake.
