Nepal needs additional assistance, says IFRC Chair Konoe

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Tadateru Konoe, said that Nepal was in need of additional assistance for the reconstruction and recovery. At a press conference organised by Nepal Red Cross’ Central Office here on Thursday, Chairman Tadateru Konoe said although there were many challenges to return Nepal to the pre-quake situation, assistances from all sides would help to cope up with challenges. Nepal delegation chief of the International Committee of the Red Cross Society, Dragna Kojiji, lauded assistance, the Red Cross extended to Nepal, and committed to provide more. Chairman of Nepal Red Cross, Sanjiv Thapa, said Nepal was in need of assistance from all sides to normalise the lives in the post disaster situation. The visit of IFRC Chairman Konoe at this difficult time has encouraged Nepal Red Cross to serve the needy people.
