KATHMANDU: In an apparent suicide case, a youth died after shooting at himself in the Capital, on Friday. A permanent resident of Kulung-1 of Bhojpur district, Manish Basnet (26) had fallen unconscious while he opened fire on himself with a 12-bore gun at his rented room in Gyaneshwor, KMC-33 yesterday. Family members had rescued him unconscious and rushed to the Chabahil-based Om Hospital, but the doctors declared him dead on arrival. A team deployed from the Metropolitan Police Circle, Kamalpokhari, recovered the gun and a bullet shell from the incident site. Further investigation is underway.
