Royal Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (RONAST) will be organising the fourth National Conference on science and technology at the Birendra International Convention Centre, Kathmandu. With the theme ‘Science and Technology for the 21st Century: Retrospect and Prospects in Nepal’, the event begins on March 23.

The four-day conference will provide a forum for scientists and technologists from all disciplines. They will put forward their research findings and share their views and experiences.

“There will be more than 1,000 participants and about 500 papers will be presented,” said Trinetra Man Pradhananga, coordinator of the oranising committee. “The chief guest will be a Nobel laureate on chemistry who hails from Switzerland,” he added. The programme includes agriculture and animal sciences, biological, chemical, physical and earth sciences, etc. It will also include indigenous technology and technologies on renewable energy.

RONAST hopes that the conference will provide an opportunity to review achievements and shortcomings and identify vital issues for development.
