KATHMANDU: Fifty-one out of 75 members of the Constitution Drafting Committee have submitted a memorandum to CDC Chairman Krishna Prasad Sitaula, demanding a constitutional provision of a separate Indigenous Nationalities Commission. According to a member of CDC Aindra Sundar Nembang, a separate commission was essential to cater to around 38 per cent of the Nepali population having 59 ethnic groups. The draft constitution has only included an Inclusive Commission. Those signing the memorandum include Bharat Mohan Adhikari, Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal, Hitraj Pande, Abdul Rajak, Dr Arzu Rana Deuba, Gagan Thapa, Som Prasad Pande and Hari Prasad Nepal.
