KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 16

The Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN) and the Korea Association of Travel Agents (KATA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today to strengthen bilateral tourism cooperation.

The MoU was signed by TAAN President Sagar Pandey and KATA Vice President Kim Beomje in the presence of the Korean Ambassador to Nepal, Park Tae-Young. The agreement aims to enhance collaboration between the two organizations to promote tourism, foster friendship, and facilitate mutual exchange between Nepal and Korea.

Under the MoU, TAAN will work with KATA and Korean travel agencies to promote Nepali tourism products and destinations while improving the safety of Korean visitors through information sharing, safety training, and prompt search-and-rescue operations.

Likewise, KATA will assist in organizing events, campaigns, and promotional activities to attract more Korean tourists and provide support in technology, logistics, and safety. Both sides will also promote initiatives encouraging Nepalese travelers to visit Korea.

The signing ceremony was attended by KATA General Secretary Bae Young Chang, Korea Association of Nepal Chairperson Cha Seung Won, and key TAAN office bearers including General Secretary Sonam G. Sherpa, Joint Treasurer Lakpa T. Sherpa, EC Members Raju Gurung, Ramesh Lamsal, Nakul Devkota, Rajendra Amgain, and CEO Ram Chandra Sedai.
