‘Chaliya Pokhara Campaign’ today

Pokhara, August 24 Tourism entrepreneurs of Pokhara are all set to launch a five-day tourism promotional campaign called Chaliya Pokhara Campaign in the four major cities of Uttar Pradesh, India, aiming to enhance the tourism sector in the aftermath of the April 25 earthquake and persistent strikes. Hari Prasad Sharma Gaire, coordinator of the campaign, said the campaign will commence from tomorrow and continue till August 29. The entrepreneurs will be visiting Lucknow, Kanpur, Banaras, and Gorakhpur during the campaign. The campaign is being jointly launched by Western Regional Hotel Association Pokhara and Pokhara Tourism Revival Committee in coordination with Nepal Tourism Board. “As India’s economic growth rate and per capita income has risen, Indian tourists could be our prospective clients as Nepal is an easily accessible country for them,†said entrepreneurs. Religious tourism sites, including Muktinath, Manakamana, and Pashupatinath, have been popular destinations among Indian pilgrims of late.
