Man of the match Kushal Tuladhar scored a half century as Eastern Engineering College (EEC) defeated Kantipur City College (KCC) ‘A’ by eight runs and advanced to the semi-finals of the third KCC Running Trophy Inter-college Cricket Tournament, which has been organised by KCC Sports Club, here at Institute of Engine-ering grou-nd today. The Himalayan Times is the official media of the event. Batting first after winning the toss, EEC accumulated 146 runs losing five wickets in 25 overs. Kushal Tuladhar scored 59 off 65 balls, which included eight hits to the ropes and a towering six. Tarun Upadhyaya scored 26 off 36 balls with a boundary and Sanjay Mandal remained unbeaten on 23 runs. Mandal hit three fours and a six. For KCC, Karan Chand claimed two wickets conceding 25 runs in five overs whereas Sanjin Dahal and Amit Sharma grabbed one wicket each.

In reply, KCC failed to reach the target and were nine runs short of the target, as they scored 138 runs losing seven wickets in 25 overs. Rockey Maskey scored 48 off 57 balls including four boundaries. Mohan Kumar Shahi made 25 off 34 balls and Dipendra Rai contributed 13 off 26 balls with two fours. For EEC, Kushal Tuladhar and Sanjay Mandal pocketed two wickets each conceding 19 and 22 runs respectively in five overs each. Tarun Upadhyaya and Bibesh Pokharel claimed one wicket apiece. On Sunday, ACME Engineering College will take on Himalayan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (HICAST) and Kathmandu Don Bosco College will face College of Information Technology (CIT) at the same venue.
