BIRGUNJ: At least 519 vehicles including passenger buses and goods-laden trucks stranded midway due to ongoing bandh were escorted to their destinations on Friday night amid a tight security, Parsa District Administration Office said. Police, Nepal Army and Armed Police Force personnel helped escort the vehicles to their destinations including the Capital and other parts of the country. Meanwhile, an ongoing bandh called by Madhes-based parties by putting forth various demands continued to rage on in the district with the agitation entering 15th day today. Normal life has largely been crippled as a result. Similarly, the market, educational institutions, industries and banks remained closed.
