Mahendranagar, June 18:

No mistake has been made while remeasuring the Indo-Nepal border in the Parashan area, said the the chief of the Indo-Nepal Joint Border Monitoring Team, Madhuram Maske.

Addressing a programme organised today at the district administration office, Kanchanpur, he said the Indo-Nepal border has been remeasured on the basis of a map designed by the British government in 1860 BS. Conceding that 16 bighas of land of the Parashan area, including the Pyara tal, had gone to India, he said Nepal had gained 32 bighas of the Indian territory. Earlier, the people of Parshan had accused India of encroaching the area. CDO of Kanchanpur, Dharma Prasad Dhungana, said such sensitive issues should not be taken lightly.
