KATHMANDU: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has refuted news reports concerning its demand to the government to set up a media monitoring mechanism. Such reports are against the spirit of the commission as it does not believe in curbing press freedom, said an NHRC statement. Expressing concern over press censorship, the NHRC said it will always focus on protecting the freedom of press.— HNS
