BIRGUNJ: As many as seven protesters associated with the United Democratic Madhesi Front were arrested by police from Ghantaghar, Birgunj on Thursday. Police arrested leaders and activists agitating against some provisions of the draft statute while a corner meeting was taking place at Ghantaghar on Thursday afternoon. According to Parsa District Administration Office, the protesters were arrested when they tried to affect peace and security in the region by chanting slogans and demonstrating in the riot-hit area. The arrested protesters of the Front were sent to the DPO for further investigation, Assistant Chief District Officer Anoj Adhikari said.
