RAJBIRAJ: Declaring the section of East-West Highway in Saptari district riot-hit, the District Security Committee mobilised army there on Thursday. The road from Koshi Barrage to Balan Bridge has been declared riot-hit. Chief District Officer Birendra Kumar Yadav said the order comes into effect from 10:00 pm today and lasts till the next notice. Any kind of demonstration including rally and assembly; exhibition of posters and meeting among more than five people are prohibited in the area after the order. Those violating the prohibitory order will be booked as per the Local Administration Act, 1971, he warned. Speaking at the press conference organised to make the decision public, CDO Yadav said the prohibitory order aims to stop road obstruction, attack on police stations and personnel and armed demonstrations, being carried out by the agitating cadres of United Democratic Madhesi Front.
