DHANKUTA, SEPTEMBER 22
Police have arrested three people from separate locations in Dhankuta district on charges of possessing suspected narcotics and controlled medicines.
According to the District Police Office, Dhankuta, 21-year-old Pragat Rai was arrested from his room in Chamcha of Shahidbhumi Rural Municipality-7 on Monday evening. Police recovered 290 capsules of Tramol-50 and 290 tablets of Spaspen Pro during a search.
In a separate incident, police arrested 22-year-old Bhola Rai of Temkemaiyung Rural Municipality-1 and 24-year-old Prabin Rai of Bhojpur Municipality-6 during a vehicle check at Mulghat in Dhankuta Municipality-9.
Police said they recovered 25 small packets of a powder suspected to be brown sugar, along with 50 green capsules and 45 orange tablets from the two men, who were travelling from Itahari towards Tehrathum in an electric vehicle.
The suspected powder weighed 1.230 grams excluding its packaging, police said.
All three have been taken to the District Police Office, Dhankuta, for further investigation.
