TOKYO: Rising teenage star Belinda Bencic cruised past the top-seeded Caroline Wozniacki 6-2, 6-4 in the Toray Pan-Pacific Open semi-finals on Saturday. The eighth-seeded Bencic had beaten Wozniacki in all three of their meetings this year and always looked likely to extend that run against the Dane, last year's runner-up in this event. The 18-year-old Swiss broke Wozniacki in the very first game, but looked to have given her more experienced opponent a way back in the second set, when dropping serve for the only time to make the score 2-2. However Bencic immediately broke back and set up a final on Sunday against either seventh-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland, or the unseeded Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia.
