US Prez Obama expresses happiness for new constitution in Nepal

NEW YORK: US President Barack Obama congratulated Nepal and Nepalis for the promulgation of democratic and inclusive constitution in Nepal. At a dinner reception organised by the US President in honour of the world leaders attending the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Monday, Obama congratulated and offered best wishes to Deputy Prime Minister Prakash Man Singh, who is here to participate in the 70th session of the UNGA leading a Nepali delegation, for the promulgation of democratic and inclusive constitution. On the occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Singh said that federal democratic republic constitution was promulgated based on political consensus and added that the new statute would be implemented based on consensus of the political parties. Likewise, at a peace conference Obama expressed his happiness for the promulgation of new constitution through Constituent Assembly (CA) in Nepal. The world leaders attended the conference organised by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
