KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 15
Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS) General Ashok Raj Sigdel returned home on Sunday, concluding his official visit to India.
Assistant CoAS, Lieutenant General Pradip Jung KC, welcomed General Sigdel upon his arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), the Nepali Army reported.
During his visit, General Sigdel was conferred the rank of Honorary General of the Indian Army by Indian President Droupadi Murmu on December 12. He also served as the Reviewing Officer at the passing-out parade of Officer Cadets at the Indian Military Academy in Dehradun. Among the 35 foreign Officer Cadets undergoing training at the Academy, Nepali Army's Officer Cadet Prabin Pandey was honored with the "Best Foreign Officer Cadet Award."
General Sigdel held separate courtesy meetings with Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, and senior officials from the Ministries of Defence and External Affairs.
General Sigdel had departed for New Delhi on December 10 at the official invitation of Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi.
