PHIDIM: Police arrested Suresh Limbu, 22, for raping a girl and looting a mobile set as well as some jewellery from Dhuseni VDC in Ilam on Tuesday. Inspector Govinda Jha of District Police Office, Panchthar, said Limbu was arrested with the help of Ilam police from his house. Police said Limbu had raped a girl of Ghurpisepanchami, Panchthar in Panchami Bazaar on September 23. He had also raped another woman of Phidim at Ranke Bazaar and looted some jewellery from her on September 26. He is said to have proposed marriage to these women through social networking sites and phone calls posing as an Indian Army personnel. One of the victims said, “I accepted his proposal after he promised me of a beautiful life in India.” She added that Limbu had taken away everything from her when they met for the first time. Limbu has been kept in the custody of District Police Office, Panchthar after he was presented at the court on Tuesday.
