UDMF submits 35-point charter of demands

KATHMANDU: The protesting United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) on Wednesday submitted a 35-point charter of demands to the government and major three parties. During talks with the team representing the major three parties, the UDMF submitted the demands, urging the big parties to amend the Constitution accordingly. The protesting alliance has sought amendments to various articles of the Constitution form Preamble to schedules. The formal talks between the UDMF and representatives of Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and UCPN-Maoist had begun yesterday. On the discussion yesterday, the Madhesi negotiators had informed the three-party talks team that they would continue protests including the blockade at Indo-Nepal border points until their demands are met.
