Kathmandu, October 29 Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has applauded former president Ram Baran Yadav for successfully completing his tenure. Addressing a special ceremony organised at Shital Niwas on Thursday, Prime Minister Oli said Yadav’s role in the promulgation of the new constitution very significant. He expressed hope that Yadav would devote his life in the days ahead to the service of the country and the people. “The government always hopes for cooperation from the country’s first president,” he said, adding that the main phase of ongoing political transition in the country had ended with the promulgation of the new constitution. The Prime Minister further said that the new government would not compromise on matters of national interests and sovereignty. Nepal is always in favour of spreading peace and fraternity in the world, he said, adding that the government would do everything possible for strengthening national unity, communal harmony. He also said that economic development and post-earthquake reconstruction efforts were the main priorities of the government. On the occasion, he wished newly elected President Bidya Devi Bhandari a successful tenure.
