KATHMANDU: Election for the post of Vice-President has begun at the Legislature-Parliament building on Saturday. UCPN-Maoist Standing Committee member Nanda Kishor Pun and Nepali Congress leader Amiya Kumar Yadav are in the fray for the post. Senior CPN-UML leader Jhalanath Khanal proposed Pun, the former commander of the People’s Liberation Army, for the post of Vice-President and Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal Chief Whip Dilnath Giri and Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Democratic leader Yogendra Chaudhary seconded Khanal’s proposal. NC Chief Whip Chinkaji Shrestha proposed Yadav and the party’s whip Ishwori Neupane seconded the proposal. The election result will be announced in the Parliament session at 5:00pm. Earlier on October 28, Bidya Devi Bhandari was elected the first female and second President of Federal Democratic Republic Nepal. Nanda Kishor Pun
