KATHMANDU: President Bidhya Devi Bhandari on Monday extended greeting to all Nepali folks for happiness, peace, prosperity, harmony and unity on the occasion of Chhath which is celebrated by praying to the Sun god and Goddess Chhathi. Issuing a press statement, President Bhandari said that such festivals in a country where there is diversity of religion and culture will strengthen unity among the Nepali and maintain cordial relations by ending all kinds of enmities. It said that festivals like Chhath has great significance in maintaining social harmony and national unity. “May this Chhath inspire all Nepalese to develop the nation by implementing the constitution effectively through national unity, integrity and consensus,” she said in the statement.
