Dry port construction at Rasuwagadhi border point begins

RASUWA: A process has been forwarded for the construction of a dry port at the Rasuwagadhi border check point in Rasuwa district. Manager at the Nepal Intermodal Transport Development Board under the Ministry of Commerce and Supplies, Hemendra Shahi, said that mapping of the land at Timure VDC for the construction of the dry port has already been completed as the Government of China has already signed the agreement in this regard. Owners of the land, whose lands are to be acquired for the construction of the dry port, have already been informed, it is learned. Stating that the dry port would cover 109 ropanis of land including five hectares of Langtang National Park, 58 ropanis of locals as well as land of some government offices, Shahi said that some 300 good-loaded containers could be parked in a systematic manner at the port.
