KATHMANDU, MARCH 15

The Nepali Embassy in Abu Dhabi has urged members of the Nepali community in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) not to share rumors, unverified information, photos, or videos related to the current security situation in the country.

In an advisory issued on Sunday, the embassy said it has repeatedly requested Nepali nationals in the UAE to refrain from publishing or broadcasting unconfirmed materials received from unknown sources through social media or other digital platforms.

The embassy warned that posting images or videos that could create confusion or spread misinformation about the security situation could violate UAE laws.

It also reminded the Nepali community to respect the laws of the country they reside in and avoid engaging in illegal or unauthorized activities.

According to the advisory, individuals found involved in such activities could face one to two years of imprisonment and fines ranging from 100,000 to 200,000 dirhams under UAE law.

The embassy urged all Nepalis to strictly follow the security guidelines issued by the UAE government and to share accurate information with friends and community members.

"Understanding the seriousness of the current situation, the embassy once again requests all Nepali nationals in the UAE not to post, publish, or circulate any materials related to the ongoing situation on social media," the advisory stated.

The embassy also warned people not to approach, photograph, or touch debris or remnants that may have fallen to the ground after being intercepted, citing safety concerns.

For verified updates, the embassy advised the public to follow the official Facebook pages of the Nepali Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Nepali Consulate General in Dubai.

It also recommended relying on updates issued by official UAE authorities, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Interior, the Dubai Media Office, the Abu Dhabi Media Office, and the Emirates News Agency.
