Bhojpur, December 9 Nepali Congress central member Shekhar Koirala has clarified that the decision to split districts on the pretext of changing state boundaries wouldn’t be acceptable. Speaking at an interaction in Biratnagar, Morang, today, Koirala stressed that the review of state delineation should be done without tampering the boundaries of districts. “Regarding the dispute over Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Kailali and Kanchanpur districts, they could be kept under the rule of the centre and the matter could be entrusted to the political dialogue committee,” Koirala said, adding, “Otherwise, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Saptari and Udayapur could be kept under a separate Province no 8.” He also urged the agitating parties to find a solution to their problems from within the country itself. “As foreign governments have always wanted Nepal as an unstable country, they (the agitating parties) should be aware of this,” said Koirala, who also hailed the constitution for its provisions on citizenship.
