Construction of seven bridges completed

Ramechhap, December 13 Construction of as many as seven Swiss funded motorable bridges have been completed in Ramechhap, whereas two are still under construction. Swiss government had initiated the construction of as many as nine bridges simultaneously in the district last fiscal. It had funded construction of five bridges along the Khomti-Betali-Those road section under local Bridge Help Unit Programme. There are five bridges along the Khimti-Betali-Rasnalu road section, one along Manthali-Galwa and three in other sections, according to District Development Committee, Ramechhap. According to the office, construction of bridges over Darkhakhola, Sindhurpakhola, Burkekhola and Chhaharekhola at Rasnalu VDC, bridge over Pharpu Khola on the border between Pharpu and Namadi VDCs and a bridge over Bhatauli Khola in Manthali municipality were completed. Similarly, bridge construction over Larkhukhola has been completed whereas bridges over Khanikhola and Khairikhola along Galwa-Guranse road section are under construction. Bala Ram Shrestha, communication officer at the embassy of Switzerland, said that bridge over the Bhatauli River was the longest with 40 meter. Other bridges are 12 meter to 30 meter long, said Dilli Adhikari, DDC Ramechhap engineer.
