SIRAHA: The local administration on Friday released five persons who were under house arrest for their suspected involvement in maoist activities.

According to the police, those set free include Jagat Singh, and Kamaleshar Yadav of Mohanpur Kamalpur VDC, Suresh Thakur and Sita Saran Mahato of Kalyanpur Kalabanjar VDC and Laxman Mahato of Phulkahakatti VDC. They were arrested three months ago on suspicion of being Maoist operatives.

They have been set free after extensive investigations, SP Min Prasad Pandey said. —RSS
