KATHMANDU: As Nepal is recovering from the devastating April 25 earthquake that killed around 9,000 people, the Kensington Palace announced on Friday that Britain's Prince Harry would make an official visit to the Himalayan republic this spring. It would be Prince Harry's first visit to Nepal. Issuing a statement today, the Kensington Palace said 'the visit is being undertaken at the request of Her Majesty's Government and will be the first time Prince Harry has visited the country'. 'Full details of the visit will be confirmed in due course,' the statement added. Some British media reports, on the other hand, suggested that the prince -- born to Prince Charles and late Princess of Wales Diana as second son --  would visit Nepal in February. 'Harry will see how the country is rebuilding after the devastating earthquake in the country’s capital, Kathmandu,' Evening Standard reported. He would be following in footsteps of his parents -- Prince Charles and Princess Diana -- and his grandparents Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip while visiting Nepal.

'The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will make an official visit to Bhutan this spring,' an official statement said. It would be their first visit to Bhutan, and coincide with their previously announced official tour of India. Alongside his brother and sister-in-law, he is also Patron of The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.' Prince Harry had held the rank of Captain in the British Army and served in the Armed Forces for 10 years with his most recent role as Staff Officer role in HQ London District as SO3 (Defence Engagement) in 2014, where he helped to co-ordinate significant projects and commemorative events involving the Army in London.
