PHIDIM: Defending champions Phidim Sporting Club advanced to the final of the seventh Falgunanda Gold Cup Football Tournament here on Thursday. Dhiroj Tamang’s solitary goal was enough for the hosts to edge past Church Boys United of Kathmandu in the second semi-final match of the tournament. Phidim will take on Karna Singh Sonam Memorial Club of Taplejung in final. The winners of the tournament will earn Rs 111,000, while the runners-up will receive Rs 55,500. A total of eight teams from Nepal and India are competing in the tournament.
