MELBOURNE: Australian Libby Lenton shattered the 100m freestyle short course world record for the second time in successive nights at the Australian swimming championships. Lenton won the final in 51.70 seconds, eclipsing the time she set in Monday’s semi-final of 51.91 seconds. Lenton became the first woman to ever go under 52 seconds for the distance in the semi-final, when she broke Sweden’s Therese Alshammar’s five-year-old world mark of 52.17 seconds.
