Implementing new constitution; challenge of the day: Home Minister Basnet

SYANGJA: Minister for Home Affairs Shakti Bahadur Basnet has urged all to help implement the new constitution as it was the challenge of the hour. Speaking in a programme organised by his party, the UCPN-Maoist district chapter here today, Minister Basnet said that the constitution could be amended if any genuine issues were not incorporated in it, as it was a common document of all. He was for transforming the incumbent government into a national unity government to implement the constitution and lead the nation on the way towards prosperity. He claimed that his party would become the largest political party in the country within the next two years. Basnet added that the future course should be of economic and cultural revolution. On the occasion, Minister Basnet felicitated the members of the families who had their loved ones killed and forcibly disappeared during the insurgency.
