Most traffic lights in Capital dysfunctional

KATHMANDU: Efforts on managing the traffic in the capital has become problematic as most of the traffic lights were not working properly. The Metropolitan Traffic Police Division has stated that most of the traffic lights were in dysfunctional state. Traffic lights at Kaiser Mahal, Durbarmarga, Putalisadak, Padmodaya Mode, Singhadurbar, Maitighar, Thapathali, Kalimati, Gaushala,Tinkune, Koteshwor and Kaushaltar are dysfunctional due to lack of timely maintenance. Superintendent of Police at the Division Lokendra Malla said that the traffic management had become a challenging task due to lack of proper function of the road lights. Traffic police have been facing various difficulties in managing the vehicles and pedestrians as the lights do not function.
