KATHMANDU, APRIL 4

The Ministry of Health and Population has instructed private medical and dental colleges to implement the November 1, 2025 agreement ensuring minimum wages and benefits for health workers.

Issuing a circular to the Association of Private Health Institutions of Nepal (APHIN) and the Nepal Medical College Association, the ministry said complaints had been received regarding non-compliance.

As per the agreement, teaching hospitals must provide nurses and health workers at least the government's fifth-level salary of Rs 34,730, while other private and community hospitals are required to pay at least 80 percent of the amount.
