KATHMANDU: The opposition in the Australian Parliament, the Labour Party, expressed its interest in supporting post-earthquake Nepal reconstruction campaign. Visiting Australian Senator and the Labour leader Sam Dastyari held a meeting with the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Sunday and informed that his party was willing to extend support, PM's press advisor Pramod Dahal said after the meeting. In response, the Prime Minister said the government would rightly utilise support received from donors in the reconstruction drive. The Prime Minister added that he had already directed the National Reconstruction Authority to speed up the reconstruction works. Dastyari said he was in Nepal upon a request from Nepalis living in Australia and the desire of his party to provide support for the reconstruction drive. He would also visit some quake-hit areas, according to Dahal. Meanwhile, Oli also held a meeting with deputy army generals of India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka who are currently visiting Nepal.
