PM inaugurates SAARC ministers' meet

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli inaugurated the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Council of Ministers meeting at  the Pokhara-based Hotel Grande on Thursday. Foreign/External Affairs Ministers and representatives from all eight countries of the SAARC are attending the meeting. It has been learned that the meeting would dwell on the agendas set by the SAARC Standing Committee for the ministerial meeting and matters concerning regional cooperation. Earlier this morning, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Kamal Thapa had hosted a breakfast meeting for the SAARC foreign ministers in Pokhara. After the breakfast meeting, India’s External Affairs Minister Swaraj and Pakistani Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Sartaj Ajij held an informal meeting. During the five-minute talks, the duo discussed the location of the SAARC regional centre for disaster management.
