KATHMANDU: Learning English language has been one of the major challenges for school children of Nepal. And teaching English is also not an easy endeavour for the teachers here. To address this problem of teachers and students, British Council has come up with a new book Creativity In The English Language Classroom. Khagaraj Baral, Director General of Department of Education and Dr Jovan Ilic, Country Director of British Council Nepal jointly launched the book at an event held at Hotel Yak and Yeti, Durbar Marg on March 21. The book, that has 18 chapters, provides practical ideas that can be used by teachers in their English language classrooms — from primary to secondary levels. Edited by English language trainers Alan Maley and Nik Peachey, it is a collection of articles on different aspects of creativity required while teaching English language. “The book has been released with an aim to help teachers make the teaching-learning process enjoyable in the classrooms. It also encourages creativity in the English language classroom,” Dr Ilic stated after the launch of the book. The book will be soon be available at British Council Nepal.
