Jailbird dies during treatment

SAPTARI: A man, who was doing time at the Rajbiraj-based jail, died on Thursday night. The deceased has been identified as Iliyas Miya (46) of Paramanpur-3 of Madhepura district, India, the District Police Office, Saptari informed. Jailer Krishna Dahal said that Miya, suffering from hernia and high-blood pressure for long, died while undergoing treatment at Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital. The District Court, Rajbiraj, had on May 20, 2012 slapped nine-year imprisonment to Miya on the charge of attempt to murder and sent to the Rajbiraj jail. Meanwhile, police arrested two persons with possession of Pharmaceutical drugs from Rajbiraj-8 yesterday night. The suspects have been identified as Naresh Shah (17) and Anil Kumar Jha (18) of Manraja VDC-2. Police said that they have confiscated Nitrogen tablets and Diazepam tablets among others from their possession. Both of them have been kept at the District Police Office, Saptari for investigation.
