Kathmandu, April 23 Times International College lifted the title of the Thasang Nationwide U-23 Open Basketball Tournament here on Saturday. In the final played at the National Sports Council covered hall, Times registered a 76-63 victory over Innovative Nepal riding on 24 points from Most-Valuable-Player Sandesh Tamang. Times earned Rs 111,111, while Innovative received Rs 50,000. Times took comfortable lead in the first period with the score of 29-16. However, Innovative bounced back to take the second period to cut the lead to just two points. Times fought hard to win the third period 12-11 and took the final quarter 27-17 to complete the victory. CPN UML leader Kiran Gurung and president of Nepal Basketball Association Lama Tendi Sherpa handed over the prizes to the winners of the tournament. A total of 11 teams participated in the 10-day tournament organised by Thasang Sports Club.
