KATHMANDU: Armed Police Force said that its personnel rescued eight people, including three foreigners, from the Phewa Lake in Pokhara after a storm on Sunday. Five Nepali tourists from Syangja district, and a Chinese couple and a two-year-old baby, were left stranded on their boats in the lake after an abrupt change in weather and strong wind. They were rescued to safety by a team led by Sub Inspector Ishwar Adhikari, the APF said in a statement today. APF personnel monitor the activities in the Phewa Lake from the rescue tower set up at Lakeside, on the bank of the popular tourist destination.
