Delegates meet Thapa

KATHMANDU: Visiting US Army Asia-Pacific Commander, Lt Gen John Brown and an Indian team of National Defence College of India on Tuesday seperately met Chief of the Army Staff of the Royal Nepalese Army, Gen Pyar Jung Thapa. Lt Gen Brown and Gen Thapa discussed the current situation in the country. The Indian team, led by Indian joint secretary and senior directing staff, Ajaya Chaudhari, also held discussions on current affairs with the Army chief and other senior officers. — HNS

KATHMANDU: The Pardesh Sewa Padak awarded by the King to the final team of the second contingent of Mahendradal Battalion that returned home on Monday following completion of a UN peace keeping mission in Burundi was presented by Chief of General Staff Rukmangat Katwal to the 211 members of the team. — RSS
