Kathmandu, March 2:

The alleged international serial killer Charles Sobhraj Gurumukh today filed a contempt of court plea at the Kathmandu District Court (KDC) accusing the government, Kathmandu District Police Office Hanumandhoka (KDPOH) and Office of Kathmandu District Government Attorney (OKDGA) of providing false information to courts against him.

'The defendants provided false information to different courts against me,' Sobhraj claimed in his petition. Despite the claim of defendants about a similar case in Bhaktapur District Court, he said that the claim is also false. 'Neither there is any case against me in Bhaktapur District Court nor any evidence to prove a case against me as claimed,' Sobhraj said. He also sought the court order to punish those officials who gave false information.

The government, KDPOH and OKDGA are the defendants. Sobhraj has already filed a petition at the Supreme Court seeking its order to release him. He has accused the Patan Appellate Court and Kathmandu District Court of giving illegal order to detain him.

Sobhraj has been facing a charge of killing Connie Jo Bronzich of Santa Cruz, California, and Laurent Ormond Carrierre from Monitoba, Canada, in Nepal in 1975. The KDC had ordered to send Sobhraj into judicial custody on October 20, 2003, till the final decision is reached.
