Ruslan Football joins hands with NSJF for award

Kathmandu, July 17 Jawalakhel Group of Industries joined hands with Nepal Sports Journalists Forum for the Pulsar Sports Award 2072 here today. Ruslan Football, the wing of Vijay Distillery initiated to promote the sport under its Corporate Social Responsibility, became the co-sponsors of the Award. Founding Chairman of Jawalakhel Group of Industries Vijay Kumar Shah and President of NSJF Mahesh Acharya exchanged the memorandum of understanding amidst a programme. As per the agreement, Vijay Distillery will provide the NSJF with Rs 350,000 per annum over the next three years. “We are extremely overwhelmed to get the opportunity to contribute a small portion from our part to honour the sportspersons of the country,” said Shah. “The state should have organised such programme and I am happy that an enthusiastic group of youth has been felicitating the players who make the nation proud in international arena,” he added. “We feel proud to be a part of this programme and hopefully we will continue to grow together,” he added. Chief of Brand at Vijay Distillery Sushil Shrestha said the company started promoting top three sports — football, cricket and basketball in terms of popularity. “We are doing this to uplift the society under our CSR initiative,” said Shrestha. “In our bid to promote the sports from grassroots, we organise camps in schools. Recently we had a camp at St Xavier’s School conducted by the then national team coach Pubudu Dassanayake and senior players,” he added. The 13th edition of the Award is slated for July 21 at the Nepal Academy Hall. The Award features eight categories – Male, Female, People’s Choice, Youth, Coach, Para-athlete, Special, and Lifetime Achievement award. The winners of the Male, Female and People’s Choice will receive Pulsar motorcycles, while others will get Rs 50,000 each along with Dish Home Set Top Box and Timex wrist watches, informed NSJF General Secretary Prakash Timalsina. Hansaraj Hulaschand and Company Pvt Ltd is the main sponsor of the event, while Ruslan Football, Surya Nepal, ISME, Dish Home are the co-sponsors. Avenues TV is the broadcast partner, while THT LIVE is SMS voting partner of the Award. Likewise, Hotel Royal Singi, National Sports Council, Nepal Olympic Committee, John Players, Timex, Emazing, Nepal Music, All in One Arts Service, RJ Sports and Hotel Crown Plaza are the supporters.
