Armymen beat Armed Police Force, win title

Tribhuvan Army Club defeated Gyanendra Armed Police Force (APF) Officers’ Club 25-12, 25-16, 25-18 in the final of the Solu-Sagarmatha National Open Volleyball Tournament, organised by Solu-Kathmandu Sports Youth Club under the auspices of Solukhumbu District Volleyball Association, here today.
In the third-place playoff, Mahendra Police Club beat hosts Solu-Kathmandu Sports Youth Club 26-24, 25-23, 25-18. The winners earned Rs 40,000 while the runners-up received Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively. Raj Kumar Adhikari of TAC was decalred the best player of the tournament and was awarded with Rs 5,000. Member secretary of National Sports Council Kishor Bahadur Singh, former minister and club’s advisor Bal Bahadur KC, NSC treasurer GN Sharma and others gave away prizes to the winners.
