TAPLEJUNG: Flights to and from the Suketar Airport in Taplejung district have been affected for the past 45 days due to bad weather. Domestic and foreign tourists have been deprived of air service due to the closure of airport. The airport had started operating regular flights from the beginning of 2016. Movement of domestic and foreign tourists had increased following the operation of direct flight from Taplejung to Kathmandu. The movement has been decreased due to the closure of airport of late. Station in-charge of the Nepal Airlines Corporation in Taplejung, Bikas Rai, said that regular flights would be brought into operation only after the improvement in weather.
