Many Tanahun grocers found selling expired consumables

DAMAULI: A monitoring team led by officials from the Department Of Supply Management and Protection Of Consumers Interest inspected more than two dozen grocery stores in Damauli of Tanahun district on Wednesday. During the inspection, the monitoring team found that most of the traders were selling expired food stuffs and daily consumables while some stores did not have price list, informed Shree Prasad Adhikari, Monitoring Officer of the Department. Meanwhile, Chairman of National Consumers Forum, Tanahun branch, Shesh Raj Adhikari demanded strong action against the traders who were selling the inedible products, resulting into serious impacts on consumer's health. The expired food products would be destroyed, informed the District Administration Office, Tanahun.
